We are now shipping to the following states, with orders being sent out every Monday: Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin.
We will work on getting cheese to those of you further away!
The idea of a buying club is that we have many people in the same area are interested in purchasing cheese. Once a month, we send out a call for orders and then meet all of the buying club members at a common location where they pick up their cheese. This allows us to reach a lot of people in a single trip and enables more people to get the cheese they want and there are no shipping costs.
Right now we have a buying club in the Twin Cities and are planning our next cheese drop-off for January 21st. Please email us if you would like to be on the list (email@example.com).
Our cheese is also offered through Remnant Hills Farm buying group and available in Des Moines the first and third Tuesday every month. Remnant Hills Farm offers pastured lamb, chicken, and eggs. They also have whey-fed pastured pork, using the whey from our cheese to produce the best pork you can find. Please contact them if you are interested in joining their buying group.
If you live within 3 hours of Jewell and would like to put a buying club together, please talk with us about it.
***We will be bringing a cooler of cheese to the annual PFI conference on January 20th. If you would like some cheese there, just choose "PFI conference" as your shipping option.***
Back in the day, cheesemakers would start their batch of cheese with the milk from the morning and fill half the mold, then cover the curds with ash, then fill the rest of the molds with curds from the evening milking. We wanted to make a cheese that was as beautiful as these traditional ones, but were also surprised to see how much the ash changed the environment and development of our Camembert.
Our Ashed Camembert is a mellowed version of the original. If you are ordering for April 28th pick-up, we highly recommend letting the wheel ripen in your refrigerator for at least one additional week before cutting into it.
Special Edition Ingrid's Pride
This was a unique result of Ingrid's Pride make process. These particular wheels have holes throughout and look a little like a Swiss cheese. They taste like the Alpine we had available in December. We only have 8 wheels, so we will just be offering this cheese through our Twin Cities buying club.
Sold in 1/2 pound wedges.
